Arturo Fuente is one of the world's most respected family cigar empires, founded in Tampa, USA in 1912 by Cuban immigrant Arturo Fuente Sr. After a devastating fire in 1924 that nearly destroyed everything, the family briefly suspended production in the 1930s until Carlos Fuente Sr. restarted it after World War II, and in the 1960s, production was moved to Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic. In 1980, Carlos Fuente Jr. officially took over, working with his father to build the legendary empire it is today. Currently, all cigars are 100% handcrafted at their own factory, Chateau de la Fuente, in the Dominican Republic. The core tobacco leaves come from the family's Chateau de la Fuente estate in the Bonao region of the Dominican Republic (one of the world's finest shade-wrapped cigar growing regions), complemented by top-quality tobacco leaves from Ecuador, Cameroon, Connecticut, and San Andrés, Mexico, perfectly blending traditional Cuban craftsmanship with modern quality control.
