A. Flores 1975 Gran Reserva Maduro · 3.5 × 46 Half Corona
The Master's Signature Flagship Chapter:PDR Cigars was founded by renowned Dominican blender Abraham "Abe" Flores in the cigar-making mecca of Tamboril. As the workshop's benchmark series paying tribute to its founder, "A. Flores 1975" is named after the year of its inception. It embodies his decades-long unique understanding of traditional Cuban rolling techniques and multi-region leaf blending. Its classic recipe has been selected multiple times for authoritative lists such as Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 of the Year.
The Deep Allure of San Andrés Dark Maduro:As the most flavorfully profound representative of the 1975 Gran Reserva series, this Maduro selects renowned natural Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper leaves. The dark, glossy leaves undergo a long natural curing and fermentation process, shedding their raw pungency and settling into a mature, mellow aroma of pure dark chocolate, espresso, and damp earth, while giving the smoke a rich, rounded, and silky texture.
Traditional Entubado Leaf Bundling and Rich Short-Vitola Experience:The workshop strictly follows the traditional Cuban Entubado (tubular leaf bundling) hand-rolling process and triple cap method, lined with Dominican Olor wrapper leaves and blended with aged Dominican Corojo and Nicaraguan Habano long filler leaves. The 3.5-inch length paired with a 46 ring gauge not only ensures smooth draw and gentle combustion but also allows the dark Maduro's distinctive caramel sweetness and roasted oils to be fully released in about half an hour.

The cold draw exudes a rich aroma of cocoa beans and dark soil. Once lit, the smoke is thick and dense, with the Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper bringing signature unsweetened dark chocolate and freshly brewed espresso flavors, accompanied by a subtle dark syrup sweetness and light black pepper spice, opening with a deep and direct start.
In the middle, the oiliness of the smoke becomes increasingly full. Layers of roasted walnuts, charred bread, and delicate old leather aromas unfold, while the Dominican and Nicaraguan filler leaves provide a solid woody base, with a finely balanced natural sweetness and bitterness. The tubular leaf bundling process keeps the smoke gathered and steady, with no trace of harsh bitterness.
As it approaches the end, the intensity steadily settles. Dark-roasted cedarwood, roasted cocoa, and the mellow aroma of damp earth complement each other, with black pepper lingering on the tip of the tongue. The 46 ring gauge ensures good temperature control even in the short vitola's final moments, delivering a clean and mellow finish with a long-lasting aftertaste.
