The scarcity of this cigar stems from its extremely high rolling technical threshold—as a standard Piramides (torpedo) shape, it requires master rollers to precisely stack the tobaccos in the tapered head to ensure a layered progression of flavors during the smoking process. Like other models in the series, after rolling, the Misticos must enter a special cedar aging room for a prolonged "post-aging" rest of up to 5 years. This lengthy period of maturation thoroughly tames the tannins in the tobacco, developing a silky-smooth, marble-textured, complex aroma. Due to the extremely limited production capacity for this complex vitola, only a very small allocation of Misticos is distributed annually to core global distributors, making it a truly "mystical" collectible.
