ADVentura La Llorona Corona
ADVentura La Llorona Corona
ADVentura was co-founded by Dominican blender Henderson Ventura and Swiss tobacco retailer Marcel Knobel. The brand is built around a cohesive nautical adventure storyline, where the fictional explorers ADVentura and his companion McKay constantly encounter new characters and plot twists during the Age of Discovery.
La Llorona stems from the "Weeping Woman" of Latin American folklore. Legend says that, consumed by grief over the loss of her loved ones, she became a wandering ghost by the water, calling out to passing souls with her cries. ADVentura reimagines this story: she is a vengeful spirit roaming the seas, hunting those who have plundered and harmed, appearing without warning and showing no mercy. This character adds a deeper, more dramatic layer to the brand's adventurous narrative.
The blend features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers (including high-priming Medio Tiempo leaves), all hand-rolled at the El Maestro factory in the Dominican Republic. The Corona format allows the flavors to unfold with greater concentration within its slender profile.
ADVentura La Llorona Corona opens with notes of cocoa nibs and floral undertones, gradually transitioning into an interweaving of maple sweetness, wood, and earth. It received a 91-point rating from halfwheel and was named one of their Top 25 Cigars of the Year; the flavor is delicate yet persistent, maintaining its distinct character throughout the nearly ninety-minute smoking experience.
