【Tasting Notes: Full-bodied Release in a Large Ring Gauge】

The 1916 Tabacalera Eiroa El Gordo does not aim for a simply aggressive, heavy stimulation, but rather a robust and balanced experience built upon a rich tobacco foundation. All tobacco leaves are sourced from the Eiroa family's own farms and undergo extensive aging before rolling. The selected authentic Original Corojo imparts the cigar's signature power and spicy characteristics, while the extremely rare Pinareño tobacco introduces elegant aromatic layers. The overall flavor profile maintains a medium to medium-full trajectory, balancing the strength and smoothness typical of traditional Honduran style.

【Overall Review and Tasting Recommendations】

The Largest Canvas for the 1916 Blend
For seasoned connoisseurs, different sizes are not merely about visual and tactile differences; they directly determine the flavor structure and profile. The El Gordo's 6 × 60 large ring gauge design provides a vast canvas for the blenders, offering ample space for the Corojo and Pinareño core tobaccos in the blend to meld. Compared to regular sizes, El Gordo's expansive capacity delivers an exceptionally full smoke, allowing the connoisseur to leisurely deconstruct the profoundness and complexity of the 1916 blend over an extended period. For advanced enthusiasts who prefer long, slow enjoyment and seek highly saturated tobacco flavors, El Gordo is undoubtedly the most direct and satisfying choice to experience the charm of this series.

The Pinnacle of CLE
The 1916 series is not only a monument to the Eiroa family's century-long history but is also considered a new pinnacle in the development of the C.L.E. brand. From the preservation and use of rare tobacco varieties to extremely stringent production and fermentation standards, 1916 represents C.L.E.'s purest manufacturing principles. El Gordo presents all of this heritage in the most full-bodied and complete manner. For discerning cigar aficionados who appreciate the classic Honduran Corojo style, pursue complex flavors, and prefer large ring gauges, this creation is undoubtedly a flagship heavy hitter worth acquiring for long-term aging in a humidor in 2026.
