The Mareva Spalato No. 2 is a highly collectible, regularly produced model from the Casdagli brand, designed to succeed the acclaimed limited-edition Spalato Limited Edition. This cigar belongs to the Club Mareva line and was created to commemorate the prestigious cigar club in Split, Croatia. Wrapped by the renowned Hendrik Kelner Jr., it features a 5 1/2 × 50 pyramidal (Pyramide) construction. The No. 2 version replaces the original wrapper with select Ecuadorian Corojo leaves, resulting in a flavor profile that evolves from the original's deep, bitter chocolate to a lighter, more complex milk chocolate style.
[Appreciation Archive: The Complex and Ever-Changing Art of the Pyramids]
Initial notes: Once lit, the Corojo wrapper reveals excellent sweetness. The initial flavors are centered around cedarwood, vanilla, and a touch of black pepper spiciness. Thanks to the pyramid-shaped tip, the smoke is very concentrated and delicate on the tongue. Mid-course: As the burn progresses into the mid-course phase, the combined power of the Dominican and Nicaraguan leaf notes begins to emerge as the ring diameter gradually increases. The signature milk chocolate sweetness blends perfectly with oak and nutty aromas. The flavor evolution is lively and balanced, showcasing remarkable complexity. Finish: As the flavors transition into the final stages, they shift towards a deeper, more complex blend of roasted coffee, leather, and the sweet and sour notes of raisins. Thanks to the tobacco leaves being aged for at least three years, the smoke retains a silky smooth texture even in the high-temperature combustion zone, leaving a lingering, elegant aftertaste with hints of floral and herbal notes.
【Product Core Highlights】
- An evolved Corojo recipe: Using the wrapper of Ecuadorian Corojo, it retains the complexity of the classic Club Mareva series while giving it a richer milkshake-like texture and sweetness.
- The perfect pyramid structure: The 50 ring gauge stem ensures ample air intake, while the pointed cap concentrates the rich aromas, providing cigar aficionados with a physical flavor gradient from light to full-bodied.
- Produced by a top-tier workshop: personally overseen by Hendrik Kelner Jr. at the KBF factory in the Dominican Republic, its rolling process ensures that the draw resistance of each cigar meets competition-level precision standards.
- A profound cultural tribute: Spalato, the ancient name for Split, has its packaging design inspired by the black marble of Diocletian's Palace, highlighting its prestigious status as a high-end social cigar.
