Fratello Cigars, founded by former NASA analyst Omar de Frias, is renowned in the boutique non-Cuban cigar world for its unconventional blending approach. The Arlequín series was initially launched as a test version within a limited-edition conceptual set. However, due to overwhelmingly positive feedback from connoisseurs, it was officially established as a premium regular production line for the brand.

The series is named after the classic "Harlequin" (Arlecchino) character in traditional Italian theater, whose iconic multi-colored diamond costume alludes to the cigar's varied and vibrant flavor profile. Each cigar is meticulously hand-rolled in a historic, top-tier Nicaraguan factory, using carefully selected high-grade Mexican wrapper and a blend of aged tobaccos from multiple countries. In the relatively compact Robusto size, it offers a colorful and more concentrated aromatic theatrical experience for aficionados seeking a nuanced taste.

Three Acts of Flavor

First Third: The cold draw reveals fresh cedar and subtle herbal notes, with an unobstructed draw. Upon lighting, the smoke is remarkably full and smooth; compared to longer vitolas, the Robusto size offers a better initial burst of flavor. The opening act begins with steady cedar and a hint of white pepper. The retrohale is mellow, accompanied by very strong floral and licorice aromas. The finish is clean, and the ash is firm and neatly layered.

Second Third: As the burn progresses into the middle, the characteristics of the Mexican Maduro wrapper fully unfold. Classic bittersweet dark chocolate notes intertwine with rich coffee bean aromas, gradually revealing the clean earthy fragrance of Nicaraguan tobacco. With the addition of roasted nut oiliness, the texture becomes increasingly round and silky, leaving a subtly sweet lingering finish on the tongue.

Final Third: Cedar and delicate leather notes elegantly overlap, firmly locking the bittersweet chocolate and rich coffee flavors into the smoke. Thanks to excellent aging and rolling craftsmanship, even as it burns close to the band, there is no harshness, concluding smoothly with refined woody aromas.
